The Whitney Family Endowed California Scholarship

The Whitney Family Endowed California Scholarship $2,500

​This scholarship, founded in 2014, is given to a pharmacy student showing commitment to independent community practice in California after graduation. It is presented annually at a Fall Alpha Psi Alumni-Active event.

Focus: 

Community independent based practice

Criteria:

a. The candidate must demonstrate the potential to be involved in independent pharmacy operations (compounding pharmacy), long term care pharmacy and consulting, and pharmacy advocacy.
b.  A personal statement not to exceed 500 words that demonstrates his/her commitment to practice independent community practice as described in the scholarship description, and that identifies the candidate’s birthplace in California
c. Must be an Alpha Psi full time student in good academic standing.
d. Must demonstrate financial need and be a native born California.
e. Must have respect of his or her peers.

Process for selecting the winner:

1.  A vote of all members of the Board of Directors of the APES&L Foundation shall be required in selecting the recipient of this scholarship.
2. The scholarship shall be presented at an awards ceremony appropriately recognized by the Alpha Psi Chapter of Phi Delta Chi.
